TAI CHI FORMS
The main exercise used in Tai Chi is called the Form. This is a flowing sequence of movements, lasting from 5 to 20 minutes. The Form very effectively develops physical skill and health, and constitutes a very enjoyable kind of moving meditation. Each movement can be practised at increasing levels of depth as the student develops however the principles of movement are always the same. More advanced students learn the two-person Form of the spear and sabre Forms, all of which provide an exciting, artistic and satisfying level to the training.
The Tai Chi forms are a predefined sequence of movements with a martial or health benefits that is through in class:
Hand Form (34 movements) Spear Form (15 techniques Spear) Sabre From (Mysterious Sabre) The Sabre and Spear share certain characteristics with everyday objects such as canes, umbrellas or even a rolled-up newspaper. So therefore these forms are easier to apply to everyday life and to train at will for example as your walking through the park you may see are broken branch waiting for you on the ground, so why not use it to practice your sabre form.
