Today we had a great demonstration showing Chi Gong and the short hand form, the Chi Gong included was Nine breaths, BA DUAN JIN and reeling silk. Ba Duan Jin is Chi Gong used to improve circulation of Chi through muscle and tendon stretching, this strengthens the bones and tones the muscle, thus developing suppleness and peace of mind.
Pushing hands - reeling silk
Reeling silk is a self-defence pushing hands drill in this practice your developing your defence energy sensing and feeling your partners movements. All ages can practice and the above clip show children natural ability to adapt and get involved, children love to push hands. We also practice Reeling silk without a partner as a Chi Gong Cultivation exercise.
